Café New Castle Prepares for Grand Opening

Formerly Mrs. Snyder’s, the eatery is debuting a fresh menu and new management.

If you’re walking down Delaware Street in Old New Castle and don’t see the sign for Mrs. Snyder’s, don’t be alarmed. The cozy eatery, which opened in November of last year, changed management in March and launched a new name—Café New Castle—and menu soon after. The restaurant is holding a grand opening celebration on Friday, May 26, for its devoted customers. The restaurant is taking reservations for 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and will be serving complimentary specialty cocktails. There will also be live entertainment. Reservations are preferred, but not required.

Café New Castle features a charming outdoor patio, a greenhouse addition and its own blends of Brandywine Coffee Roasters.

General manager Erin Redding completely revamped the menu, which now offers breakfast Tuesday through Friday, brunch on the weekends, and lunch and dinner Tuesday through Friday. The restaurant also has a liquor license and is open until 10 p.m. The spacious back patio is handicapped-accessible and pet-friendly. Café New Castle also offers a variety of takeout items for lunch and dinner, plus delicious desserts ranging from scones and cupcakes to cakes and cookies.
