Bean There, Just Did That

Beans, beans. The magical fruit is so magical, it can even be turned into delicious cookies. Leave it to Milton’s own Bella’s Cookies to figure out how.

Debuting at the Historic Lewes Farmers’ Market last weekend was Bella’s white bean cookie, Leguma Beach. “They took a lot of experimentation,” says Kelly Leishear, president of Bella’s. “The finished product is both delicious and healthy.” The cookies contain puréed white beans, organic oats, chopped walnut and dark chocolate chunks, all bound without eggs or better, so they’re fat free, full of fiber and packed with protein.

Delicious and healthy has been Bella’s specialty since it started a few years ago.
