Discovering Good Libations in Kent County

Think wine and beer paired with cheese and chocolate sounds good? Good libations indeed.

It may be winter, but the Good Libations Tour in Kent County is all heated up. What is Good Libations, you ask? It’s a series of events at distilleries, wineries and breweries around the county. Start with The Best of Both Worlds at Harvest Ridge Winery in Marydel, which partners with Fordham Brewing to pair their wine and beer with cheese and chocolate. While you’re there, tour the winery. It happens March 8. Call 343-9437 to reserve. The new Painted Stave distillery in Smyrna will host an artists’ reception on March 7. The art will be—what else?—painted staves, or the pieces of a wooden barrel used for aging spirits. Call 653-6834 for more. Check in here later for more on a food truck competition in late March.
