Just a Train Ride Away: The Back Burner Restaurant

Enjoy the restaurant’s legendary pumpkin-mushroom soup or an entrée such as roasted pork tenderloin.

Break up the workweek by riding the Wilmington & Western Railroad’s vintage 1929 railcar to the Back Burner Restaurant in Hockessin on July 9 for delicious entrées and delectable desserts. The Back Burner is located adjacent to the tracks, so the train will take you from station to restaurant in comfort—and with a great view of the Red Clay Valley.

And the best part? You don’t have to do the dishes! Hors d’oeuvres are served on board, while dinner and dessert are served at the restaurant. Enjoy the restaurant’s legendary pumpkin-mushroom soup or an entrée such as roasted pork tenderloin with cheddar grits, pancetta, mustard greens and chorizo-black bean confit. Reservations are required, so call now: 998-1930. You won’t get another chance to do the dinner train until Sept. 10. Check wwrr.com for more.
