01/15/13Newark Rocks Restaurant WeekDowntown Newark’s annual Restaurant Week is coming. From Jan. 21 through Jan. 27, the city hosts a culinary celebration to highlight the downtown’s diverse restaurants. And it’s one of the most affordable restaurant weeks in the state. Special menus at the 19 participating restaurants show off their best. Three tiers of prix fixe meals are offered, with some restaurants offering more than one tier during the week. Friends & Family Fun Meals feeds a group of four for $22. Two-course lunches are $10. Two-course dinners are $22, and three-course dinners are $28. 01/01/13Buckley's is BackAs restaurant cult followings go, the horde of regulars who hang their hats at Buckley’s Tavern in Centreville have to be among the most dedicated. How else to explain the pajama-clad congregation that assembled on a cold Sunday in January a year ago for the last in what had become a regular, almost religious experience? Buckley’s legendary half-priced brunch (provided you showed up in your jammies, of course) was just one of many lovingly held traditions that went on pause for nearly 11 months while the chateau country landmark experienced a change in operators, as well as a much-needed refurbishing. 12/25/12Ciao, NapoliTwenty years ago, your Insider discovered the best pizza around at Café Napoli on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington. Then we watched it blossom into a full-service place that served delicious Italian entrees. Before we knew it, it became so popular, waiting lines were not uncommon. Hence the birth of Trattoria di Napoli in Bear and, now, Cantina di Napoli in Wilmington’s Trolley Square. We’re thrilled.
