Where to Celebrate Fat Tuesday

Here are four spots to eat, drink and dance before Lent begins.

1. Celebrations on Market Mardi Gras Party

2. Family Mardi Gras at The Greene Turtle

3. Fat Tuesday at North Quarter Creole

11:30 a.m.–11:30 p.m. | Head to North Quarter Creole for live music from the Fifty Fives. | 837 N. Union St., Wilmington, 691-7890, northquartercreole.com

The menu will include:

  • Crawfish Boil: Crawfish (fresh from New Orleans), andouille sausage, shrimp, corn on the cob and potatoes cooked in spices and butter
  • New Orleans Barbecue Shrimp: Steamed shrimp in Worcestershire beer-butter sauce served with grilled bread
  • Voodoo shrimp and grits with cornbread
  • Blackened catfish over dirty rice with corn relish
  • Seafood Gumbo: Crawfish tails, shrimp, crab and catfish over rice served with cornbread
  • Jambalaya: Andouille sausage, blackened chicken and shrimp in jambalaya sauce and rice
  • Nola Sampler: Boudin pork sausage links, andouille sausage and alligator boudin sausage served with chipotle and Creole mustard voodoo BBQ sauces and grilled bread
  • Shrimp Po Boy: Breaded fried shrimp, chipotle slaw and dill pickles with red beans and rice
  • Beignets with salted caramel sauce
  • Drink specials (Hurricanes, Mint Juleps, Sazeracs, Bayou Bombs and Frozen Irish Jameson Coffee)

 

4. Fat Tuesday Paint and Sip at Ernest & Scott
