16 Mile Brewing Company Hosts its First Tasting Dinner

Collaborating with SoDel Concepts and dining in the brewing environment make this a meal you won’t want to miss.

16 Mile Brewing Company in Georgetown, known for its session ales and innovative infusions, will host its first tasting dinner at the brewery with SoDel Concepts, the James Beard Award-winning restaurant group, on Feb. 21. “We have been inviting local food trucks and their chefs to the brewery for a while now. SoDel’s Big Thunder Roadside Kitchen has been a mainstay, setting up shop at least one weekend a month” says Sarah Dickinson, the media and events director at 16 Mile. “Their beautiful simple food is equally as innovative as our beer.” Claus Hagelman, sales and marketing director for 16 Mile, is the mastermind behind several unexpected infusions that will compliment Chef Ronnie Burkle’s menu. “Pairing with SoDel is an opportunity to showcase our abilities as a brewery to create infused beers that complement the chef’s food, and not just have a chef write a menu to compliment our beer,” Hagelman says. “Collaborating with SoDel was our first choice,” Dickinson says. “Claus and I wanted to take the idea of pairing craft beer and great food to the next level by hosting the dinner in our brewery. Most beer dinners are hosted in restaurants, so dining in the brewing environment really elevates the whole experience.” Burkle, SoDel’s corporate chef, jumped at the opportunity to write a menu with Hagelman. “Cooking and eating a few feet from where the beer you’re drinking is being made is pretty progressive,” he says. “We’ve always hosted beer dinners at our restaurants, so we’re really excited to be part of something like this.” The 16 Mile and Sodel Concepts beer dinner starts at 5:30pm. To make reservations email sarah@16milebrewery.com.
