Parade into September at the Kennett Mushroom Festival

Dine in the streets, enter the fried mushroom eating championship or just stroll.

Visit Kennett Square, Pa., also known as the Mushroom Capital of the World, for its annual Mushroom Festival on Sept. 6-7. Highlights include guest chefs and cooking demos, the National Fried Mushroom Eating Championship, a soup and wine event, and more. Start the celebration early with the Community Parade on Sept. 5. Make a reservation at any Kennett restaurant that offers Dining in the Streets and enjoy the parade tableside. Dancing in the Street with the band Good Foot follows the parade in the center of town. There are also activities for kids, car shows and more. For details, visit mushroomfestival.org. And don’t forget about the Taste Kennett Food Tours—three-hour walks to some of the top restaurants and wineries in town—for samplings and demos. Visit www.tastekennett.com.
