Don't Miss La Fia's Special Menu and Extended Hours

The Wilmington bistro is partnering with OperaDelaware to celebrate the life of composer Gioachino Rossini.

La Fia and OperaDelaware have partnered for OperaDelaware’s Spring Festival, which will be held at The Grand from April 29–May 7. In celebration of the festival, the Market Street bistro is offering special Sunday brunch and dinner services on April 30 and May 7, in honor of the 225th anniversary of Gioachino Rossini’s birth. In addition to being the most celebrated composer of his time, Rossini was also a known gourmand and excellent amateur chef who hosted legendary dinner parties. Chef Bryan Sikora is offering a Rossini-inspired menu for the Sunday brunch and dinner seatings, including a Rossini cocktail (a fresh strawberry and Prosecco mimosa) and Tournedos Rossini (a pan-fried filet mignon topped with foie gras, garnished with black truffle and finished with a Madeira demi-glace sauce).

This is big news for opera lovers looking for a pre- or post-show bite, as La Fia is not normally open for service on Sundays.

“Our patrons are always looking for places to dine before and after the opera, especially on Sundays,” says Brendan Cooke, OperaDelaware’s general director. “Celebrating Rossini served as the perfect excuse to approach La Fia to explore a themed menu for our patrons. “I can’t wait to see—and taste—Chef Sikora’s homage to Maestro Rossini!”
